ABOUT POSITION:
We are looking for a Security Engineer to join one of our long-term international partners in the fintech industry. In this role, you will lead security initiatives, manage risk, and ensure compliance across the organization. You’ll work closely with internal teams, vendors, and contractors to design, implement, and monitor security measures that protect critical systems and data.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and approve security system design
- Maintain and regularly test disaster recovery and business continuity plans
- Oversee security policies, access management, and incident response
- Review all security incidents, assess impact, and drive corrective actions
- Stay current on industry threats, regulations, and compliance requirements (including PCI DSS)
- Run regular audits and vulnerability scans using tools such as Tenable
- Use SentinelOne, Sumo Logic, and other security platforms to monitor, detect, and respond to threats
- Ensure security policies are clearly communicated and enforced across the company
- Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and vendors
- Continuously update the security strategy to reflect new technologies and emerging risks
- Communicate best practices and risks across the business
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong understanding of IT, information security, and information governance
- Working knowledge of security standards and compliance frameworks
- Hands-on experience with Windows, Linux, and core IT operations
- Background in business continuity, audit management, and information security controls
- Strong strategic planning and security fundamentals
- Understanding of the UK regulatory environment for EMI; FinTech experience is a plus
- Proven experience managing technology, projects, and operations
- Commercial awareness and confidence working with budgets
- At least one certification: CEH, CISA, CISSP, or CISM
- Degree in computer science or a related field
- Experience in electronic payments or banking is highly desirable
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels of the organization
